Lillian A. Greenman died on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at the age of 107 at Liberty Hall, Mercy Assisted Care, Janesville. Lillian was born on a farm in Union Township, Rock County, to the late Peter O. & Laura A. (Anderson) Anderson, on Jan. 14, 1901. The family moved to the Stone Farm in Fulton Twsp. in 1903, where her father managed a 1000 acre farm. In 1908 they moved to their own farm on Old Hwy. 51. Lillian and her sister Gladys attended the one-room Cox School for eight years. Lillian graduated from Edgerton High School, and traveled all four years by horse and buggy. She then attended Whitewater Normal School. She later worked at the Parker pen Co. On May 27, 1926, she married George R. Greenman, who was from Milton Junction, in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the Congregational Church-UCC of Edgerton, and was an 89-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her two children, Paul R. (Karin) Greenman of Ft. Myers, FL, and Virginia J. (C. Richard) Anderson of Milton; her six grandchildren: Paul R. (Marian) Anderson of Milton, Peter J. (Vicki) Anderson of Stevens Point, WI, Julie (John) Anderson-Wade of Waukesha, WI, James C. (Rina) Anderson of Baraboo, WI, Erik Greenman of Ft. Myers, FL, and Brian (Erin) Greenman of Los Angeles, CA; her five great-grandchildren: Nicholas Anderson of Milton, Thomas & Trina Anderson of Baraboo, Samuel Wade of Waukesha, and Kyle James Greenman of Los Angeles; and a great-great-granddaughter, Hailey Rebecca Anderson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Gilbert; and her brother-in-law, Keith Gilbert.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, 828 S. Janesville St., with Rev. Herb Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in the Milton Junction Cemetery.
