Former Valley Resident Dies In California
Word was received this week in Star Valley of the death and funeral services of Ragnar Edward Anderson, 85 a former valley resident who died Nov 23 from a hemorrhage caused by stomach ulcers in San Diego, Calif.
Funeral services were held Nov 30 in the Hall Mortuary Chapel in Logan and burial was in the Clarkston Utah Cemetery.
Mr Anderson was born Oct 6 1898 in Sweden, and came to Star Valley with his mother and brother, Carl. His mother married Oley Anderson, brother of John and Joseph Anderson and Mrs Nels Christopherson.
He lived in Grover and Afton for several years and while in Afton he was employed by the Star Valley State Bank. He was also the first commander of the Star Valley American Legion Post. He was a member of the mandolin orchestra organized by C.A. (Art) Hughes.
After leaving Star Valley he lived in Logan, Utah; Los Angeles Calif.; Nogales, Ariz; Rexburg Idaho and Bakersfield and San Diego Calif.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs Fauntella Anderson, a son Richard, San Diego; a daughter Barbara Pasadena Calif; a brother Carl, Ogden, Utah and two sisters Mrs L.E. (Josephine) white Bakersfield, Calif; and Mrs R.R. (Ruby) Ladd Newport Beach, Calif.
