Death: Mar. 15, 1873

David D. Anderson was the son of Thomas Jefferson Mitchell Anderson (1774 S.C.)and Thankful Jane Nicks-Anderson (1795 N.C.)

He and his brothers came to Texas around 1846-1847 and started looking for a place to raise a family as he had just married before arriving in Texas.

He married Zerilda McAlister Oct. 17, 1845. She was the daughter of William Crawford McAlister and Mary Polly Webb- McAlister.

C.S.A. records show he was in two different regiments of the Confederate Army. He joined in 1861 from Lamar County, Texas and was mustered out as a Sgt. and later applied for a Confederate Pension in which he did recieve.

He was the father of 10 children, the 10th being my great grandfather, Samuel A. Anderson.

His wife, Zerilda McAlister-Anderson ( Born June 19, 1826 in Tenn.) died Feb. 18, 1867 when Samuel A. Anderson (Born Jan. 28, 1867) was only 21 days old. (bio by: LaVelle Chasteen)
