Graveside services with Military Honors will be at 2:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
He was born November 1, 1921 in Westbrook, Texas.
He married Edna Cate, on March 21, 1942, in Stanton. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2012.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was in the 77th New York Infantry Division. Service included the Ryukyus Campaign, Guam, Ie Shemi, and the invasion and securing of Okinawa. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor.
He graduated from the West Texas College of Mines, now the University of Texas at El Paso.
He was a civil engineer for Morton Thikol, near Brigham City, Utah.
He was a Southern Baptist.
He had been a resident of Big Spring for one year coming from Odessa. Prior to Odessa he lived in High Rolls, New Mexico for 25 years.
He is survived by two daughters: Wyleen Anderson of Midland and Renee' Siddal of Pensacola, Florida; two sons: Boyd Rae Anderson, Jr. of East Berne, NY and Bruce Anderson of Wallis, Texas; one sister; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
