Cecelia Mynatt Anderson, 86, a resident of Knoxville and formerly of Oak Ridge and Kingston, died Monday evening, April 8, 2002, at Fort Sanders Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was born Sept. 12, 1915 in Shreveport, La., the daughter of Estelle and John Mynatt.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, and she enjoyed her flowers, birds and gardening and being with her family.

Her family said she had a wonderful sense of humor to the very end.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe W. Anderson; her sister-in-law and friend, Eula Mynatt of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her son, Mike Anderson and his wife, Brenda Anderson, of Kingston; and her daughters, Pattie Bright and Harriet Schlank and her husband, Fares Schlank, all of Knoxville, and Becky Sherrod and her husband, Tom Sherrod, of Oak Ridge.

Mrs. Anderson is also survived by her grandchildren, Greg Anderson of Oak Ridge, Joey Anderson and his wife, Kristi, of Harriman, Kevin Bright, Kellie Bright, Evan Schlank and Christian Schlank, all of Knoxville, Becky Bright and Michael Sherrod, both of Nashville, and Jill Sherrod Lomenick and her husband, Jeff, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and her great-grandchildren, Haley Anderson, Ragan Anderson and Rylee Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rupert Mynatt and John Mynatt.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Bob Cantrell officiating.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

The family asks that any memorial contributions be in the form of donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 4700 Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914; or the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
