Charles I. Anderson, 245 Stow Ave., died last night at St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Anderson was born in Chicago but had resided in Troy most of his life. He was the son of the late Constance Peterson Anderson and Henry Anderson.
He was a machinist for the John A. Manning Paper Co., Mt. Ida Mill. Mr. Anderson was employed there for 37 years, retiring in 1962. He was a member of the Machinists Union and the 25-Year Club of John A. Manning Co., a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.
He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline M. Sanicka; two daughters, Mrs. Charles M. Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. William S. Harrison III of Cortland; one sister, Mrs. Esther Lusk of Troy; nine grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
The funeral will be held from the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Washington Park and Third Street, Monday at 8:30 a.m. and at St. Michael’s Church at 9 a.m. where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
