Last Rites For Mrs. Alvina Anderson, 72

Funeral services were held Alvina Anderson, 72 of Luverne, Tuesday in the Grace Lutheran church, the Rev. L. Solberg officiating.

Mrs. Anderson died Friday night in the Community hospital. She had been ill for about a month after suffering a stroke. Burial was in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery. Engebretson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Alvina Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Smith, October 7, 1888, in Turner county S.D. She came to Rock county about 1915 and lived in the community since then.

She married Tobias Anderson October 10, 1921, in Luverne. They became parents of four children, one of whom died in infancy. Her husband died in 1947.

Mrs. Anderson was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a member of Grace Lutheran church in Luverne.

Her surviving children are Mrs. Warren (Margaret) Hoh of Esteline, S.D.; Leon of Minneapolis and Toby of Luverne. Other survivors include a brother, Erwin F. Smith, of Anoka, Minn.

Pallbearers were Arthur Anderson, Selmer Anderson, Selmer Hoiland, Obert Hoiland, Sidney Blinsmon and John Jensen.
