Sylvia C.(Anderson)Forss,90,of Sioux City,died Thursday March 20,2003,at Countryside Senior Living.Services will be 11a.m.Tuesday at St.James's United Methodist Church,with Rev.Bernie Colorado officiating.Visitation will be 4-8p.m.Monday with the family present 6-8p.m.and a prayer service 7p.m.at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.The body was donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy.Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.Sylvia C. was born July 31,1912,in Villa Park,Ill.,the daughter of Sigfried and Alfreda(Lindstrom)Anderson.She graduated from East High School in Aurora,Ill.,in 1930,she attended Western Illionis University and Washington University in St.Louis,Mo.,were she graduated with a science degree in education.She taught school in Oak Park Elementary School in Aurora,Rockford,Ill.,and Racine,Wis.,before moving to the Sioux City area in 1952.The couple lived in So.Soo.City,Neb,until 1961,when they moved to Elk Point,S.D.They moved to Sioux City in 1966.Mr.Forss died May 2,1980,in Sioux City.She earned nurse aid certification at the former St.Joseph Mercy Hospital,and became a physical therapist assistant for many years.She was active in Frist Baptist Church and pass eight yrs St.James United Methodist.Survivors include,three sons,Mr.Fred(Marlene),James,Mr.David(Amy)Neb.;two daughters,Mr.Marc(Freda)Gorsett,Lisa her friend,Darren King of ,TX.;12 grandchildren;Jeffry Gorsett,Jennifer Winquist,Janene Kleve,Janette Heiner,Matthew,Michael Kowalczyk,Nick,Angie Forss,Leigh ,Kim,Megan and Samantha Maine.
