SERVICES FOR MRS. ANNA ANDERSON
Funeral services for Anna Marie Anderson were held Saturday, October 2, 1971 at 2:00 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Vilisca, Pastor John Hargreaves officiated Sutphen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pall bearers were Leland Anderson, Keith Nelson, Randy Bloom, Howard Anderson, Phillip Brewer, and Douglas Bloom.
Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Erick Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Lucas.
Music was by the congregation. Neola Sunderman was the organist. Hymns were "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and "Jesus, Pilot Me."
Mr, and Mrs Seymour Johnson were in charge of the register.
Ushers were Darrell Herzberg and Lester Steve.
Interment and concluding services were in the Evergreen Cemetery at Red Oak, Iowa.
Anna Marie Anderson, daughter of Carl G. and Selma Swanson Johnson, was born July 30, 1893 in Omaha, Nebraska and passed away September 30, 1971 at the Good Samaritan Center in Villisca, Iowa after an extended illness at the age of 78 years.
In early infancy, Anna was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska. She was confirmed into the Fremont Lutheran Church at Nyman where the family made their home.
On February 10, 1915, Anna was united in marriage to Edwin Anderson of Essex, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Wayne of Corning and Geraldine of Villisca. Also surviving Anna are Waynes wife, Elsie, and Geraldine's husband, Wayne Bloom of Villisca. Five grandchildren, Leland Anderson of Villisca, Gary Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska, Howard Anderson of Ames, Iowa, Douglas Bloom of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Randall Bloom of Ames, Iowa. Two great grandchildren, Dickie and Kelly Anderson, Two brothers, Carl Johnson of Nodaway, Iowa, and LeRoy Johnson of Chicago, Illinois. Two sisters, Gertrude Anderson and Mildred Carlson of Red Oak, Iowa, also a number of distant relatives and friends.
