Dolly Sanders Anderson, age 87, of McDowell Place in Danville, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her residence. Born September 24, 1926 in Frankfort, she was a daughter of the late Alan Clifton and Florence Rogers Sanders. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Centre College graduate (1947) and the University of North Carolina (1961). She was a retired social worker for the VA Hospitals in Durham, N.C. and Lexington, Ky. Mrs. Anderson was an avid reader, gardener and bridge player. She loved to be on the go and traveled extensively visiting Greece, Egypt, China and Australia. She was also a member of the Lancaster Women's Club and Lancaster Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Sanders.

Her survivors include a son, Patrick Alan (Barbara) Thompson of Georgetown, S.C., a daughter, Lucinda (James) Sanders of Lancaster, a sister, Julie Sanders of Danville, four grandchildren, Alan (Jade) Sanders, Chad (Anne Carson) Thompson, Hunter(Roison) Thompson and Cecilee Sanders as well as two great grandchildren, Henry & Anne Brady Thompson.
