LEVELLAND - Berniece Anderson, 99, formerly of Donley County died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in East View Cemetery in Vernon. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mrs. Anderson was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Oklahoma Territory to James Burton and Celeste Hoffman McDaniel. She married Oscar "Cap" Anderson on Sept. 28, 1928, in Frederick, Okla.

They later moved to Donley County in 1929, and farmed until their retirement. She then moved to Levelland several years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hedley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Jan. 13, 1966; a brother, J.B. McDaniel on Feb. 19, 2001; and a grandson, Randall Anderson Gouge.

Survivors include a daughter, Romaine Gouge and husband Harold of Levelland; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Saints Roost Museum, P.O. Box 810, Clarendon, TX 79226.
