She was born May 25, 1923, in Orlando to the late Fred and Mary (Fritz) Anderson; being the wife of a military man, she lived all over the world, including Japan and Okinawa, but settled in Lake Wales in 1966 from Brooksville.
She was a homemaker, but formerly worked at Waverly Credit Union and Act Media. She also worked as a sales representative for Tupperware and Avon because she enjoyed people; and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven and Lake Wales Garden Club. Agnes was an avid football fan and was known as a great Southern cook and gardener.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Allen; daughter, Gail Marie Tomlinson; brothers, Carl Anderson, William Anderson and Fred Anderson; and a sister, Louise Wright.
Survivors include her sons, Roger Charles Allen; daughter-in-law, LaRue Allen; son-in-law, Alan Tomlinson; and three grandchildren, Brett Tomlinson, Lee Tomlinson and Stephen Tomlinson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
Interment will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
