He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Anders; his son, Robert Ernest Anders; his parents, Robert and Ann Anders; his sister, Charlotte Davis; and his brother, Tommy Anders.
Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Anders Collins (Bob); his sons, Scott Anders (Cindy) and Michael Anders (Trudy); his sisters, Kathryn Brown (Clayton) and Carolyn Patton (Park); his brothers, Danny Anders (Janet) and Larry Anders (Carolyn); his brother-in-law, Bruce Davis; and his grandchildren, Wesley Collins (Jennifer), Chris Collins (Madison), Jordan Collins (Justin), Bryan Anders (Lacey), Angela Anders, and Josh Anders (Casey).
Mr. Anders was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa. He was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked 28 years at Gulf States Paper. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He was a wonderful, loving father, "Pawie," brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Collins, Chris Collins, Josh Anders, Bryan Anders, Justin Knight, Doug Collins, and Dana Stamps.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Stephen Browne and staff, Gentiva Home Health, VA doctors and staff, former coworkers of Gulf States Paper and Nucor Steel, AIDB Tuscaloosa Regional Center, Graphic Packaging employees, Mrs. Carrie Ross, Jim and Gay Howard, Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Taylor, Bill Estes, Mrs. Doris Stokes, and other neighbors and friends.
