He was the youngest child of his family. He was born in Alsace Township, Berks County near Reading.
He worked as the Chief Clerk Philadelphia and Reading Railroad Engineering Office (followed in his brother's footsteps). He also managed a Drug store in Pottstown PA. He died in Philadelphia apparently at the home of his son. Burial was in Pottstown, PA where he had lived for many years.
