Gertrude Anchak (nee Chase) of Burlington City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro at the age of 81.
Mrs. Anchak was born in Burlington and remained a lifelong resident. She was the administrator of the Home for Aged Women on York Street in Burlington for many years, retiring about fifteen years ago. She was well known for being a very sociable person. She was well liked at the Marcella Nursing and Convalescent Center, where she spent the last several years. Gert had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington for most of her life.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Daniel Tocci and Dolores Anchak, all of Burlington; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Thomas McConnell of Burlington, Lillian and William Zemitis of Edgewater Park, and Olive MacLennan of Altamonte Springs, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late George Chase, who was killed in the Korean War.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday at the PAGE FUNERAL HOME, 302 E. Union St., Burlington, with burial following in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to Catholic Charities-Delaware House, 25 Ikea Drive, Westampton, NJ 08060 would be appreciated by her family.
