She was born April 22, 1923, to the late James Rucker and Faith America Rice Dickerson in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.

She will be sadly missed, but will be remembered by her character: soft spoken, full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Luther E. Amos; two sons, Walter and James Amos; a grandson, James "Jimmy" Hurlow; eight brothers, Vernon, Clyde, Guy, Charles, Seth, Walter, Hobert and Claude Dickerson; three sisters, Hope Maggard, Erma and Edna May Dickerson and son-in-law, Phillip Bradbury, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2011, in the Old Kyger Free Will Baptist Church, Cheshire, with Revs. Bob Thompson, Rick Towe and Junior Preston officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis.
