Married Elkanah Kain Vernon on 4 February 1877 in Snow Creek Township, Stokes County, North Carolina. The wedding was officiated by Rev. R. W. Hill and witnessed by E. T. Amos, William Shaffer, and B.T.H. Vernon.
Died of hemiplegia (paralysis of one side of the body) on 7 August 1923. Interred 8 August 1923 at age 62.
