Mr. Ammons, age 84 years, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Brittany Manor followed by a lingering illness. He was born on December 25, 1928 in Bryson City, North Carolina. He married the former Charlotte Scott on May 25, 1963 in Snowbird, North Carolina. She predeceased him on November 5, 2003. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Iron Workers Local 25 and from farming which he enjoyed. He is survived by a niece Martha (Carlie) Ammons-Armstrong, a great niece Nicole (Jason) Davis both of Kingston, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July, 20, 2013 at 4 pm from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Williams presiding with Entombment at Calvary Mausoleum with military funeral honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 pm until time of service.
