Mrs. Margaret A. Offutt Ambush, 94, of Frederick, died Sunday, Jan. 25 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Lindsey P. Ambush, who passed away May 4, 1997. They were married for 71 years.

Born in Frederick County, Feb. 22, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie Hall Offutt.

She was a homemaker.

She was a life-long member of the Buckeystown United Methodist Church 80, where she served on the Mass choir, was a member of the Women's Society and kitchen staff. She was also a member of the Madam C.J. Walker Temple 509.

She is survived by one son, Paul F. Ambush Sr., and one sister, Rebecca Saunders, both of Frederick. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Ambush; and one sister-in-law, Edna Weedon. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy V. Layer; a son, Charles J. Ambush; a son-in-law, Samuel G. Layer; a daughter-in-law, Thelma Ambush; two great-grandsons, La Monte Oram and Paul F. Ambush III; four brothers, Noah, Harry, Richard and Willie Offutt; three sisters, Vallie Offutt, Annabelle Richardson and Caroline Bowie; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Offutt.

A public viewing will be held Thursday, Jan. 29 from 1 to 6 p.m. at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Chapel, 110 W. South St., Frederick.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Jan. 30 from 11 a.m. to noon, where funeral services will be held at noon, with the Rev. Erma Dyson officiating.

Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

Arrangements entrusted to Gary L. Rollins Funeral Services of Frederick.
