Betty Ambrose, 78, of Ladysmith and originally of Conrath, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Ladysmith Nursing Home following a three-week battle with cancer.

Betty was born April 15, 1934, in Conrath to Alfred and Elva Riphenburg. She married Dwight F. Ambrose in Ladysmith on April 11, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church.

She lived in rural Ladysmith until 2010, when she moved to Stanley. She moved to Ladysmith in 2012. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies were cooking, baking and gardening. She also enjoyed many years of camping with her family.

Betty is survived by her sons Jim (Sarah) of Amherst, Tim (Linda) of Prairie Farm, Tom (Faye) of Mondovi and David (Patricia) of Warrensburg, Mo.; her daughters Mary (Gary) Hopkins of Old Town, Fla., Jane (Randy) Burch of Ladysmith, Pat (Mike) Bernecker of Prairie Farm, Linda (Keith) Herrmann of Glen Flora, Christine (Roger) Rosolowski of Conrath and Tammie (Dan) McCoy of Gladstone, Mo.; 27 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her sisters Dorothy Otto of Ladysmith, Shirley (Jim) Blazek of Milwaukee, Audrey (Don) Paul of Woodstock, Ill., and her sister-in-law Audrey Riphenburg of Conrath.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Elva; her husband Dwight; her brother Alfred Riphenburg; and her sister Beverly Riphenburg; and her grandchildren Isaiah and Josiah McCoy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ladysmith with Pastor Mark Pflughoeft officiating. Family will receive friends at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday and for an hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
