Ronnie Y. Amador, 52, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Mt. View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. He was born January 27, 1963 in Silver City, NM to Guillermo and Emilia Young Amador.

"Big Ron," as he was known by, was very active in sports starting as Copper Little League team member of the "Rattlers" to begin with and later with his drive in Middle School he joined football and served as manager for basketball. In his high school years, he was very well liked and he enjoyed sports there too. Football and Track were two of his favorites. He had his friends, Steve Teran, Freddie Garcia, Rudy Ojinaga, Phillip Martinez, Richard Medina, Manny Sedillos and many more "Los Traviesos."

Upon graduation, Ron was employed by Bargain Annex (Home Furniture) and extended his support for the kids of the community by serving with the group "Kids Support" and later as President of the League of Copper. He got employed at Fort Bayard Medical Center working for ten years and struggling with his health issues were the reasons to retire. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, cookouts and hearing music. He and his companion shared their lives and kept working on their yard planting roses.

He is survived by his companion Bernadette S. Abalos of Silver City; one daughter, Alyssa Amador of Bayard; three sons, Ronnie Amador Jr. (Dezeray) of Sierra Vista, AZ; Steven Amador of Bayard; Jacob Amador of Silver City; four grandchildren, Audrey, Alexis, Caleb and Chase Amador; one sister, Arlene Barragan of Bayard; four brothers, Joe Amador (Patsy) of Las Cruces; Armando Amador (Yolanda) of Bayard; Felix Amador (Mary Rita) of Silver City; Ruben Amador and companion Susy Lucero; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Senaida Salinas (2014).

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31 from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 11am with Father Matthews reciting. The Funeral Mass will commence at 11:30 am with Father Matthews officiating.

Concluding service interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe, Armando, Felix, Ruben Amador, Ronnie Amador Jr., Steven Amador, Jacob Abalos and Armando Amador Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Delfin, Adam Amador, Robert Gonzales, Alan Amador, Andrew Amador, Angel Amador and Robert Abalos.
