North Huntingdon, Formerly of Duquesne Maria(Ference) Alzo, 90, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Duquesne, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at home. Born Sept. 5, 1922, in Tovarne, Slovakia, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Gambal Ference and the beloved wife of the late George Alzo. Mrs. Alzo was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin, Holy Trinity's Jednota and Sokal and Ss. Peter and Paul's Rosary Society. Mrs. Alzo is survived by three loving children, Helen (James) Dishong, of North Huntingdon, with whom she resided, Mary Grove, of Duquesne, and Michael (Nancy) Alzo, of Canton, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Derek (Melinda), Tom, Erik (Heather), Wendy (Mike), Melissa (Oryan) and Robert; and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, in the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth Avenues, Duquesne. A blessing in the memorial home at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, will be followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Duquesne. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin. Parastas services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the memorial home. From www.triblive.com
