Severino "Pancho" Alvarez, 82, Klamath Falls, died Nov. 21, 1991.

He was born in Michucan, Mexico, to Tanacio and Junatia (Contrarez) Alvarez.

He moved with his parents in 1910 to the San Fernando Valley, where he attended school. He moved to the Klamath Basin in 1924 and worked at Algoma Lumber Co.

Mr. Alvarez married Nellie Morales March 2, 1929, in Klamath Falls.

In 1946 he began working for the Oregon, California and Eastern Railroad at Beatty. In 1948 he went to work for Modoc Lumber Co., where he was a lumber handler for 30 years until his retirement in 1978.

Mr. Alvarez was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was active in the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens and enjoyed gardening as a hobby.

Surviving are his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Tressa and Joe Herrera, Klamath Falls, Rosie and Bob Byram, Redmond, and Lupe and Willie Dunster, Klamath Falls; son, Tom, Klamath Falls; sister, Juanita McAuliffe, Malin; brothers, Alex, Central Point, and Tiburcio "Butch," KLamath Falls; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Adelna Dunster; daughter-in-law Beatrice Alvarez; granddaughter, Tricia Herrera; sister Lupe Mendoza; and brother, Lute Ledesma.
