Moises Álvarez, beloved father, husband, grandfather, uncle and godfather, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015 in his home.
Moises is survived by his wife of 32 years, Millie Álvarez. Moises is also survived by his only son, Adrian, daughter-in-law, Christie and grandsons, Emilio and Benito. Moises leaves behind two sister-in-laws, Corrine and Lorraine and her partner, Henry and four brother-in-laws, Abel, Robert and Hope, Pete, Jerry and Sammy and Katie. Moises also had many nieces, nephews, and three special godchildren, Angel Rodarte, Melanie Rodarte and Gabriel Mendoza.
Moises was preceded in death by one of his sisters-in-law, Ella Lucero and in-laws, Reymundo and Celestina Rodarte.
Moises loved watching his grandsons play football, baseball and rugby. Moises loved gardening but his overall first love was roofing. Moises had a fond love for animals and cared specially for his birds and dog, Poncho. Moises enjoyed listening to classic rock. Moises loved when his family got together to celebrate special occasions like birthdays and holidays. Moises had many special friends and cherished each moment he spent with them.
Moises' Life Celebration will begin with a viewing at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2015 followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m., both at Salazar Mortuary, 400 3rd Strret SW. A Funeral Mass in Moises honor will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Lucero, Norman Saavvedra, Henry "Hank" Rodarte, Mark Bruno, Raymond Rodarte and Andrew Mendoza. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Rodarte and Randy Rodarte.
