She was born in Ware County to the late George Wilbur Dials and Virue Herrin Dials. Mrs. Altman was a homemaker, whom early in life worked for Rubin Brothers Shoe Factory for fourteen years. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Grace Group which is now known as Faith Fellowship. Mrs. Altman loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, laughing, Bingo and playing family card games.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Altman and a brother, Wendell Dials.
She is survived by her husband, Noah G. Altman of Hoboken, three daughters, Linda Crews of Hoboken, Marsha Lee and her husband Donald of Hoboken, Diane Nichols and her husband David of Hoboken, a son, Gary Altman and his wife Susan of Hoboken, a sister, Dorothy Stone and her husband Monroe of Waycross, a daughter-in-law, Mary Altman of Hoboken, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Members of Faith Fellowship, formerly known as the Grace Group have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers and should gather at the church by 9:45 a.m., Wednesday.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the church.
