A resident of Shellman Bluff, Georgia, Mr. Altman retired from the U.S. Army after twenty years service, then opened Hunter's Café and Altman's Restaurant, and enjoyed a successful career as a restaurant owner and operator. He was an avid fisherman when not working. Funeral arrangements were with Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with original obituary published in the July 31, 2014, issue of The Darien News.Britton Clarence Altman, age 72, of Shellman Bluff, died Sunday, July 27, 2014. Mr. Altman served in the US Army for 20 years. After his retirement, he began a successful career in the restaurant business, owning and operating Hunter's Café and Altman Restaurant. In his off time he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Kellie Altman Chapman (C.C.) of Darien; a son, Britton Carlos Altman of Shellman Bluff; a grandson, Carson Chapman of Darien; a brother, Sylvester "Fuzzy" Altman, Jr., of Waycross and many nieces and nephews.

Per Mr. Altman's wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service.

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
