Dortharene Altice (Dot), 80, or Route 1, Glade Hill, died Monday, July 31,1995, at the local hospital. She was a daughter of the late Charlie and Sally Kate Altice and the widow of Lewis Carroll Altice Sr. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Carroll Jr. and Gladys Altice, Rocky Mount; a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Alton Dent, Glade Hill; four grandchildren, Ricky Altice, Linda Guthrie, Kathy Underwood, Jeff Dent; six great-grandchildren, Crystal Diane Altice, Danny Wayne Guthrie, Michael Underwood, Brandon Lee Altice, David Lee Guthrie, Sara Underwood; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Elizabeth Altice, Glade Hill, Donnie and Dorothy Altice, Forest; a special niece, Barbara Chitwood, Glade Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m.Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
