Upon his return to the US in 1953 his fiancée Ethel Brown emigrated from the UK and they were married in Sept. 1953 and raised two children. In civilian life Don was a car salesman and by 1960 was a successful typewriter repairman and salesman for Price Typewriter in Troy, Ohio. In later years he lived with his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Altic in West Milton.
