Ethel was the seventh of 11 children born to Andrew B. Shreve and JoAnna Shreve. she was born and raised in Smoke Hole. in 1921 she had a daughter, Zeffie Shreve that died when a week old. Martin Kisamore is listed as the father. Ethel married Osa Preston Alt and of this union four children were born. Velma Pearl(my mother), Audrey Cleo, Ressie Margaret, Clinton Preston.Osa died in 1935 leaving her to raise 4 small children by herself.
