He was born June 8, 1928, in Landes, and was the son of the late Henry Clay Alt and Lula Mae (Kimble) Alt. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean (Anderson) Alt, in 1958.
He retired from Johnson Crane Service, Inc. in Beltsville, MD, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Diana (Sites) Alt; three sons, Bradley Clay Alt and wife, Andrea of Brookeville, MD. Henry Mark Alt and wife, Ellyn of Fisherville, VA, and Daniel Paul Alt of Mozer; three daughters, Sandra Kaye Mongold and husband, Roger of Petersburg, Delena D. Wirth and husband, Keith of Little Chute, WI. Shanna E. Alt of Rockville, MD; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Tankersley and Anna Belle Harold; and one brother, Paul W. Alt.
Graveside service was Friday, Oct. 9, at the Cherry Hill Cemetery, Upper Tract, with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating and burial following.
