The Tennessean (Nashville, TN) May 21, 2006 Jean Vance Alsup passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at National Health Care in Murfreesboro. She was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County, Jean was a member of East Main Church of Christ. She retired from the Murfreesboro Water Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Alsup; parents Claude and Flora Vance; brother, Claude Vance, Jr, and sister Ruth Vance Wood. She is survived by son Bill (Velvia) Alsup of Sugarland, TX., daughter Betsy (Clark) Thurston; brothers, Ralph (Edna) Vance and Robert Joe (Anna) Vance, both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Patrick (Sara) Thurston of Atlanta, Robert (Amy) Alsup of Wylie, TX, Billie Jean Brown of Murfreesboro and Ellen (John) Young and Susan (Steve) Mollenkoph, both of San Diego, CA.; and eight great grandchildren.
