"Mrs. Marie Alston Dies at Hospital ~ Mrs. Marie Christine Olsen Alston, wife of Christopher Alston, died Thursday at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Koosharem, Piute county, June 10, 1879, a daughter of Hans Jacob and Meren Carine Neilson Olsen.
During her entire life she has been an active and faithful member of the Church. She was formerly president of the Y.L.M.I.A. of the Twelfth-Thirteenth ward. She was a member of the Salt Lake temple women ordiance workers under the direction of Mrs. George F. Richards. She had also been active in ward Relief society and genealogical work.
Surviving are her husband, and the following sons: Christopher James Alston, and Bishop Clifford M. Alston, Salt Lake; Howard V. Alston, of Park City, superintendent of schools for the Summit county district; and Clinton Alston of Denver, and her brother, Hyrum J. Olsen of Salt Lake. The body is at the Deseret Mortuary pending funeral arrangements."
