He attended High Hill AME Church in Dalzell and received his education in the public schools of Sumter County.
"Chuck", as he was affectionately known was employed by Best Lumber Company of Sumter for many years. He was an electrician and a truck driver by trade.
He leaves to cherish his memories his companion, Deloris Muldrow, of the home; his children, two sons, Larry Alston Jr. and O'Neal James, both of Sumter, and seven daughters, Veronica Davis, Latoya (Carldrelle) Cooper, Sharmara Muldrow and Dell Spann, all of Sumter, Dominique Nixon of Bridgeport, Conn., Latonya Muldrow of Washington, D.C., and Tanekia Alston (Joseph) Moore of California; one aunt, Bertha Hunter of Sumter; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two aunts, Susan Coplin and Edna Mae Johnson
