Joseph J. Allomong, 85, Bryan, died March 30, 2010, in CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance.

He was born May 7, 1924, in Richland Township, Defiance County, the son of Joseph O. and Hazel (Maier) Allomong. He married Opal Steller, who preceded him in death. He then married Mary Thompson on April 2, 1949, in Edon, and she died March 3, 2006. Joe graduated from Edon High School in 1942. He retired from Edon Machine in 1989 after 38 years as plant superintendent and was a member of Life Changing Realities Fellowship. Joe was also a longtime general livestock farmer in Florence Township and a member of the Edon Lions Club. He also operated the Edon Dairy from 1945-47.

Surviving are two sons, Joseph "Rick" Allomong of Bryan and Willis (Jeannie) Allomong, Edon; two daughters, Dorothy "Dottie" Heckman of Bryan and Joan (Bob) Seaman, Archbold, Ohio; a sister, Oneita Bergholtz, Kalkaska, Mich.; six grandchildren, Phillip Heckman, Tiffany Zipfel, Scott Allomong, Jacque Seaman, Zachary Heckman and Kellen Seaman; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Elaine Goshorn; his first wife, Opal Steller; his second wife, Mary Thompson; and a daughter-in-law, Eve Allomong, on Feb. 6, 2009.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier, with Pastor Byron Adams and Pastor Eric Burkhardt officiating. Burial will be in Edon Cemetery, Edon.
