PEORIA -- Leland E. Allington, 79, of 1201 E. Tripp Ave. died at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 1995, at Methodist Medical Center.

Born Feb. 24, 1915, in Chillicothe to Charles and Jessie Topping Allington, he married Lois I. Smith on Aug. 17, 1957, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are five brothers, Norton and William, both of Chillicothe, Charles of Peoria, Robert of California and James of Rockford; two sisters, Jessie Colwell and Frieda Fisher, both of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters preceded him in death.

He was a shipping clerk at L.R. Nelson Manufacturing Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.

He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Keith Thibo will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 to night at the chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to his church or to the Diabetes Foundation.
