On February 11, Jane Arnegard quietly passed away in Redlands, CA at the age of 93 following a short hospital stay. She was born on May 16, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA to Irwin and Clara Allinder and the family moved to El Centro, CA where she went to junior high and high school. After her mother's early death, Jane attended college at Santa Barbara College of the University of California where she received her teaching degree. Jane married Don Arnegard on Sept. 22, 1945 after his service in the U.S. Marines in World War II. They moved to Redlands while Don studied at the University of Redlands. Together, they raised their two sons, Mark and David. The family loved the outdoors and traveling, and they took family vacations across the continental U.S. Jane taught home economics in the Yucaipa schools for many years and continued to enjoy the company of her teacher friends long after her retirement. In the later years of their 62 year marriage, Don and Jane traveled to many far away lands visiting most of the continents of the world. After Don's death in 2008 Jane continued their community service to Redlands by delivering "Meals on Wheels" which they had enjoyed doing together. Spiritual life remained very important to her, and she spent most of her adult life in fellowship and service to her churches--University United Methodist and Redlands United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Arnegard and his partner Robert of Flagstaff, AZ, and David Arnegard and his wife, Yvonne of Foster City, CA, and her grandchildren, Sarah in Sydney, Australia, and Nathan in San Jose, CA.
