Adam Allgeyer : DUBLIN: COFFMAN STUDENT, 16, DIES OF CRASH INJURIES
A 16-year-old Dublin student died this week of injuries he suffered in a two-car accident.

Adam Allgeyer, a Dublin Coffman High School junior, was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Ohio State University Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Jill Boatman said.

Allgeyer had massive head injuries, she said.

The accident happened about 3 p.m. Monday as Allgeyer drove home from school westbound on Earlington Parkway.

He lost control of his car at the intersection of Donnybrook Drive and collided with an eastbound car, Dublin Police Sgt. Ray Scharf said.

The driver of the other car, 19-year-old Jeff Yuva, was treated at the scene.

There were no passengers in either car.

Scharf said the accident remains under investigation and said it's still unclear why Allgeyer's car went left of center.

His parents, Stephen and Carol Allgeyer, declined to comment yesterday.

Counselors were at Dublin Coffman High School yesterday to assist students, school spokeswoman Lynda Sirk said.

"He was well thought of and he will be missed. The kids are just trying to adjust," she said. "Kids at that age just tend to think they're invincible."

Besides his parents, Allgeyer is survived by a brother, Ryan, and sisters, Allison and Emily, all of Dublin.

A funeral Mass is planned for 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Brigid of Kildare Church on Avery Road in Dublin. Calling hours will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 W. Powell Rd. in Powell.
