Billie Alley, 59, 1403 Brightridge Drive, Kingsport, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 10, 1987) at Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born in Sullivan County and had lived most of her life in Kingsport. She was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church, a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and active in many church and community organizations.
Surviving are her husband, Wallace D. Alley, Kingsport; three sons, Douglas Alley, Martin Alley and David Alley, all of Kingsport; one granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. John (Martine) Haynes and Mrs. Virgil (Helen) Meyers, both of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ruby Addington; a brother, Leo Addington.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mafaie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Wilhoit officiating.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services to lie in state.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family suggest those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mafair United Methodist Church or Holston Valley Hospital Cancer Center.
