Edmund Nugent Alley was born to Zebediah Jackson and Nancy Ann N (Peabody) Alley. Edmund was born on Great Wass Island, Jonesport, Washington, Maine. On 06 Jul 1861, in Jonesport, Edmund married his first cousin, Jane Moriah Alley, daughter of Joseph Leach & Roxalana Hall (Norton) Alley. Together Edmund and Jane had 8-children. Four of these children died very young. As far as I know all of their children were born on Head Harbor Island, Jonesport, Washington, Maine. Edmund's 1st wife, Jane, mother of all of his children, died in 1879. In 1910, Edmund married Julia Ann (Bryant) Beal, widower of Freeman Doyle Beal (1844-1907). According to the 1920 US Census, for the first time, Edmund is living in the town of Jonesport and not on Head Harbor Island. Throughout the US Census' he was noted as a farmer, and later a Master Mariner.
