Clarence A. Allen.

Clarence Albert Allen was born April 6, 1890, at Eagle and died Aug. 17, 1940, in Lincoln at the age of 50. At 23 he started farming for himself at Woodlawn. In 1916 he married Florence M. Voorhees. In 1919 they went to a western Nebarska (sic) farm, returning five years later to Malcolm, where Mr. Allen went into the garage business with two of his brothers. In 1933 he opened a filling station at Aurora, and the next year went to Valley and operated a grocery. In January of last year he opened a Lincoln grocery, which he was conducting at the time of his death.

Surviving Mr. Alllen (sic) are his wife, a son, Robert of Malcolm ; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis Nichols of Waterloo, Ida Marie and Shirley Ann Allen at home; one grandchild; four brothers, Homer W. Allen of Los Angeles, Aaron A., of Lincoln, Oral J. and James W. of Malcolm; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Bruns of Lodgepole and Mrs. Mary Hink of Hayes Center; and his stepmother, Mrs. Nelson Allen of San Francisco.

Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Wadlows, Rev. Vincent Beebe officiating. Mrs. Lester Thompson and Mrs. Herman Westfall sang. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park.
