Mrs. Bessie Mae Ervin was born on May 19th 1899,to Joe Allen & Bessie Brown-Allen in Shreveport Louisiana.She moved to East St Louis in 1981.She dedicated her life to JESUS CHRIST at an early age. Bessie or "Mama" as everyone called her was a loving & devoted mother,grandmother & great grandmother.Her many expressions of hospitality & generosity excelled all others.She expired in her sleep November 03,1996.She leaves to cherish her memory six(6)children-two sons Willie Ervin (deceased)of Dundee,Mississippi & Johnny Lewis of Tunica Mississippi & four daughters Bessie Mae Howard(deceased) of Dundee,Mississippi Willie Mae Ervin of Tifton Georgia,Annie Mae Fain Of East Saint Louis,Mary Ann Davis & her son-in-law,Timothy Davis Sr for whom she cared dearly about,both of Chicago,Illinois,& who remained by her side to the end.She also leaves twenty (20) grandchildren & a host of great grandchildren & many friends.Bessie was a faithful member of Gallilee Central Missonary Baptist Church.................................. God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills too hard to climb,
He gently closed those loving eyes,
And whispered, "Peace Be Thine".
The weary hours and days of pain,
The sleepless nights are passed, All the troubles of this world I leave behind I
