ALLEN-JENKINS NUPTIALS YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
Well Known Couple From Grass Valley Were Married at the Congregational Parsonage by Rev. J. Sims - Will Make Home in Sister City.
A quiet but pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Congregational parsonage. Wm. Charles Allen and Miss Gertrude Mary Jenkins were made man and wife. The bride was attended by Miss Charity J. Granville of this city while J. Allen, a brother of the groom, acted as best man.
Shortly after the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. J. Sims, the couple left for Grass Valley, where they will make their home. The bride is a handsome young lady who has a host of admiring friends, while the groom is a young man of exemplary habits. The couple have the best wishes of a large circle of friends for a happy and prosperous wedded career.

CHARLES ALLEN DIES IN CITY OF INFLUENCA
Charles Allen, a native of this city and a resident of San Francisco for the past few years, died of influenza at San Francisco last Sunday after a very short illness. The news of the death was at once communicated to relatives here.
The body was shipped to this city and arrived here yesterday morning.
Allen was a native Grass Valleyan and was about 34 years of age at the time of his death. He lived here for many years, but later went elsewhere to take up his home, locating finally at San Francisco.
He was a member of a lodge of Knights of Pythias in Tuolumne county.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11:30 from the Harris funeral palors with relatives and friends attending.
Of his immediate family, two small sons survive, his wife having died some time ago. A number of near relatives residing here also survive.
