He married Louisa Frances Eliza Douglass and they had two children together, one of them Laetitia Saunders named after George's little sister Letitia Saunders Allen who died at age 8. Daughter Letitcia married businessman Charles Cantrell, a well known merchant in the Milling and Tobacco Business whose partner was George's son, JD Allen who became very successful in his own right. George's sister, Eliza Allen married the famous Sam Houston (they divorced). Eliza then married Elmore Douglass. The Douglass and Allen families of the Gallatin, Tennesee areas intertwined.
