Suggested edit: Bio Suggestion: George Webster Allen was born on December 8, 1811, in Tennessee. His father, John, was 35 and his mother, Laetitia, was 19. He had some interesting relations. He married Louisa Frances Eliza Douglass and they had two children together, one of them Laetitia Saunders named after George's little sister Letitia Saunders Allen who died at age 8. Daughter Letitcia married businessman Charles Cantrell, a well known merchant in the Milling and Tobacco Business whose partner was George's son, JD Allen who became very successful in his own right. George's sister, Eliza Allen married the famous Sam Houston (they divorced). Eliza then married Elmore Douglass. The Douglass and Allen families of the Gallatin, Tennesee areas intertwined.
George W. married second wife Cordelia A Read and they had three children together. He became a very well known and respected Judge. So much so that when he died on May 25, 1881, in Gallatin, Tennessee, at the age of 69, the entire town, in his honor, stopped working.
