Bessie Allen, 77, of 64 Seventh St., Woodside Community, died Oct. 17, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodside Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Jacob E. Allen, a daughter, Mrs. Roddy (Pat) Howard of Greenville; a son, Rev. Clarence Allen of Parksville; two sisters, Blanch Merrill of Taylors and Jeanette Hammett of Welford and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Westside Crisis Center at Woodside Baptist Church; 301 Woodside Ave., Greenville, S.C. 29611. Services 11 am Saturday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home; Northwest Chapel, with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation 7 to 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
