COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Fern V. Allen, 75, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Albany, Ky., to the late Ethel "Bob" V. (Ballinger) and Ralph Kermit Vitatoe.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church and worked as an LPN for many years before her retirement. She loved vacationing in Florida as often as she could. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Aaron.
