88, of Whitleyville (the Haydenburg Community) will be today, Sunday, February 4, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of
Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will be in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone Community of Jackson County.
Mr. Allen died Friday, Feb 2, 1990 in Jackson County Hospital following an extended illness.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Hensley Creek
Church of Christ in the Hensley Creek Community of Jackson
County.
Born October 12, 1901, he was the son of the late Jim and Nancy Denson Allen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie Allen; a son, Joseph Lee Allen; two daughters, Bonnie Jean Allen and Anna Belle Allen; brothers
and sisters.
His family includes his wife, Reba Roberts Allen of Whitleyville; two daughters, Eva Lee Newberry of
Gainesboro and Della B. Nemore of Whitleyville; a stepson, Earl Roberts of Nashville; a stepdaughter, Mary Frances Pryor of Nashville; three grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a
step-great-granchild.
Bro. James Paul Anderson will officiate at the services.
