The Gettysburg Times September 25, 1967

Mrs. Regis C Steinberger, 56, Orrtanna R1, for 30 years a school teacher in Adams County, died Sunday evening at 10:30 at her home. She has been in declining health for a year.
Mrs. Steinberger had taught two years in Menallen Twp but the rest of her teaching career was in the schools of Franklin Twp. She taught at the Valley School until it was closed in 1962 when she was transferred to the school in Cashtown. The Valley School was the last one room school to operate in Adams County.
She had taught at the beginning of the 1966-1967 school term and then was granted sick leave and a sabbatical leave for the remainder of the year.
Mrs. Steinberger had attended St. Joseph's Academy in McSherrystown and was graduated from the Shippensburg State College.
She was born at Carlisle and was a daughter of the late John and Mary Irvin Allen. She was a member of the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Buchanan Valley and of the Rosary Society of the church. She also served on the church council and was a member of the auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus at Chambersburg.
She and Mr. Steinberger had been married 27 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Bender Funeral Home here Thursday morning at 9:00 with a requiem Mass at 10:00 in St. Ignatius Church with Msgr. Louis J Yeager officiating. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
