ALLEN, ETHEL OHMAN, May 9, 1975, in Eureka. Resident of 966 15th., Fortuna. Wife of George Allen of Fortuna. Mother of Mrs. Don Parle White of Orinda. Grandmother of Thomas Ohman White of Los Angeles, Don Parle White Jr., of Sacramento. Mrs. Mary Ann Read of Orinda and James Thorpe White of San Francisco. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Mrs. Allen was a native of Eureka; aged 79 years. She was a member of the pioneer Ohman family, early settlers of Eureka. She had been a teacher over 25 years, teaching in the Eureka City School system, and had been principal of Freshwater School for several years. Mrs. Allen was well known throughout Humboldt County for her music and instruction on the piano.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Fortuna; member of Humboldt County Historical Society, Fortuna Garden Club and Retired Teachers Association.
Combined rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fortuna, Monday, May 12, at 9:45 am., with Father Vincent Radvina celebrant. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka.
Those wishing may make memorial contributions to American Cancer Society, 19 Fifth St., Eureka.
Friends may call at the chapel of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary Sunday from 2 to 4 pm., 7-8:30 pm.

Mrs. Ethel Ohman Allen, aged 79, a member of the pioneer Ohman family of Eureka and widely known as a Eureka teacher and music instructor, passed away May 9th after a lengthly illness.
In recent years she has lived in Fortuna as the wife of pioneer George Allen.
Interment was at Ocean View Cemetery, Eureka
