Funeral services for Belinda Boren Allen, 51, of Corinth, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Smith officiating and burial at Henry Cemetery.
Ms. Allen died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a dedicated nurse's aide at Dogwood Plantation and Superior Home Health and Hospice.
She was a Corinth High School graduate who attended Mississippi University for Women where she majored in commercial art and was a member of the tennis team. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening and decorating. She did commercial art for several local businesses. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Ms. Allen was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle P. Boren, and her grandparents, James and Vallie E. Boren and Lawrence and Kate Phifer.
Survivors include her father, Arthur A. Boren; a daughter, Katie Allen Briggs and husband Ryan; a sister, Teresa Smillie and husband John; two grandchildren, Shiloh Briggs and Shelby Briggs; and a niece and nephews, Shannon Grimsley, Jeff Grimsley and Jason Smillie.
Pallbearers are Jason Smillie, Tommy Ledbetter, Lynn Wood, Dale Dyson and Ed Lucas.
Visitation is today from 6 until 8 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
