THE DALLES CHRONICLE, The Dalles, Wasco Co. Oregon, February 1949, Allen Rites Slated, “Funeral services for Andrew Marion Allen, 81, who died in Tacoma Monday, will be held from the C. R. Callaway & Son chapel at 1:30 p. m. Saturday with the Rev. Allen G. Tucker officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. — Mr. Allen had been a farmer here for many years before moving to Vancouver, Wash. 22 years ago. He was a member of the Old Wasco County Pioneer association as well as the Barberton and Vancouver Pomona Grangers. — Surviving Mr. Allen are his wife, Clara M. Allen, Vancouver; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Cushing, Canby; a son, Lt. Ralph M. Allen, Whidby Island, Wash.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Marie Morast, The Dalles; a step-son, Everett Kerr, Mildred, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. S. V. Mason, The Dalles, and Mrs. (not named due to typhographical error), a brother, Hardy K. Allen, Vancouver; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.” (Provided by James Windsor)

Oregon, February 1949, Marion Allen, 81, Dies at Tacoma, “Marion Allen, 81, an early resident of The Dalles area, died Monday night in a convalescent home at Tacoma, relatives in The Dalles have been informed. — Mr. Allen, a brother of Mrs. S. V. Mason and a cousin of Justice of the Peace Glenn O. Allen, both of The Dalles, spent most of his life in Wasco county but had lived at Vancouver, Wash., in later years. He had been a farmer in this area. — Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.” (Provided by James Windsor)
